The Dakota Running Irons Cowboy Mounted Shooting Club held a CMSA sanctioned meet May 10, 2008 at the Ashley Arena Outlaw Camp. The meet was called the Dakota Cowboy Heritage Festival.

There will be a CMSA sanctioned shoot in Kimball SD Saturday, July 26 with $1,000 added. The Geddes Fur Trader Days will have a Grand American CMSA sanctioned shoot Saturday and Sunday, August 9 and 10 with money added.
